It may come as a shock to you to hear that pharmaceutical companies (the ones who make medicines) are not there to make us healthier; they are just there to make money. They are big businesses, and just like any other business their aim is to make money. They don´t want you to know the real causes of health problems and they don´t want you to prevent them. They just want you to buy their drugs. Our healthcare system relies on findings from scientific studies that are mostly financed by pharmaceutical companies. This system is ´designed´ to make us more dependent on drugs than it is to prevent disease.

Modern acne medication does not seek to support nature and the bodies built in healing system. Instead it seeks to intervene in the patient´s problem, so that it is perceived to be fixing the problem. The doctors of today have a lack of respect for nature and rather than working with it, they seem to be in competition with it.

To make matters even worse, the suppression of acne symptoms usually leads to side effects, which are frequently suppressed with even more drugs.

Today our healthcare system is focused on studying disease rather than health. Doctors and researchers are so busy looking at symptoms and categorizing them into thousands of different definitions of disease (with a corresponding set of drugs to prescribe); they fail to look at look at real underlying causes of a problem at all.

We don´t want dwell on the business and politics of modern medicine too much, but let´s just say that sick people needs drugs - healthy ones do not. The ultimate goal of modern medicine is simply to control the symptoms of the disease, rather than treating the roots of the problem out, because hiding away symptoms for the long term is more profitable. Pharmaceutical companies have complete control over the medical establishment in nearly all developed countries, and even exert control over scientific studies and government policies.
